Qualification: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.

Registration: Valid Nursing Council registration.

Experience: 3-4 years, Freshers may be considered; relevant hospital experience in ICU, critical care areas.

Responsibilities

1. Assess patients and identify their nursing needs at the time of admission and throughout hospitalization.
2. Prepare and implement individualized nursing care plans as appropriate.
3. Monitor and accurately record vital signs, intake-output, pain scores, Glasgow Coma Scale and other clinical parameters as applicable.
4. Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, blood/blood products and other prescribed treatment safely and accurately.
5. Follow medication-administration rights and report medication errors/adverse events immediately.
6. Assist doctors during examination, procedures, rounds and emergency interventions.
7. Ensure timely execution of doctors' orders and document compliance.
8. Recognize deterioration in a patient's condition and immediately escalate it to the concerned RMO/Consultant and Nurse Incharge.
9. Maintain complete, legible, accurate and timely nursing documentation.
10. Ensure proper patient identification before medication administration, procedures, sample collection and transfer.

Follow infection-prevention practices including hand hygiene, PPE use, biomedical waste segregation and isolation precautions.
12. Follow hospital protocols for prevention of falls, pressure injuries and healthcare-associated infections.
13. Provide patient and family education regarding medications, diet, procedures, discharge instructions and follow-up care.
14. Ensure secure patient transfer and proper clinical handover using the hospital-approved handover process.
15. Check emergency equipment, crash cart, medicines and consumables as assigned.
16. Maintain proper custody and accountability of medicines, equipment and hospital property.
17. Immediately report incidents, near misses, medication errors, patient falls and other safety concerns.
18. Participate in Code Blue, Code Yellow, fire safety and other emergency responses as applicable.
19. Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy and dignity at all times.
20. Participate in nursing audits, quality-improvement activities, training programmes, BLS/ACLS training and competency assessments.
21. Perform any other patient-care responsibility assigned by the Nurse Incharge/Nursing Head/Management.
