? What You'll Do:

- Develop and maintain backend services supporting end-to-end payment flows
- Build and enhance payment features, including charges, refunds, disputes, and webhooks
- Design and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs across microservices
- Refactor legacy Java services, reduce technical debt, and improve test coverage
- Implement asynchronous processing, message queues, and distributed-system workflows
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests to ensure production reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents in payment and billing systems
- Maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deliver production-ready code through peer reviews
- Collaborate with product managers, partner teams, and engineering stakeholders
- Document technical designs, API specifications, knowledge-transfer materials, and runbooks

✅ Must-Have Requirements:

- 4+ years of hands-on backend software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Java as the primary programming language
- Experience with Kotlin and Python as complementary skills
- Payments, Fintech, or Billing domain experience (Must-have)
- Hands-on experience building production payment flows, including charges, refunds, disputes, and webhooks




- Experience developing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, MySQL, and SQL
- Experience with distributed systems, message queues, asynchronous processing, and eventual consistency
- Experience writing unit, integration, and contract tests
- Hands-on experience with GitLab, code reviews, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Experience refactoring legacy services, migrating APIs, and implementing regression testing
- Experience resolving production incidents and designing internal APIs for downstream services
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and sprint-based delivery, including Jira
- Upper-intermediate English communication skills

- Experience in a large enterprise engineering organization
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, Gradle, and service mesh technologies
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance, payment security, and financial data handling
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog
- Open-source contributions or a portfolio of shipped payment features
