Designation-Software Engineer - Networking Datapath (QoS/CoS/ Firewall/ACLs/Filters)

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize data-path software for silicon-based networking platforms, including Broadcom DNX and Marvell CN10XX.
- Implement and enhance routing, tunneling, packet-processing, and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols.
- Develop and debug networking components across Linux-based embedded systems and hardware platforms.
- Optimize code for throughput, latency, CPU utilization, memory consumption, and overall system performance.
- Work on Linux kernel internals, device drivers, multithreading, IPC, memory management, and network internals.
- Implement and troubleshoot protocols across Ethernet, IP networking, security, Wi-Fi, and telecom stacks.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, architecture, and system engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and drive engineering deliverables across the development lifecycle.
- Own the complete SDLC, from functional specifications and design to implementation, testing, integration, and production deployment.
- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, performance profiling, and resolution of complex system-level issues.

Required Technical Skills 1. Operating Systems & System Internals

- Linux, Linux Kernel Internals, Linux Network Internals
- DPDK, Android, and device drivers
- Multithreading, memory management, process management, and IPC mechanisms

2. Networking & Protocols

- VXLAN, VLAN/VNI, TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6, ARP, ICMP, DHCP, and DNS
- IPsec (ESP/AH), ISAKMP, and GRE tunneling
- Ethernet and complex routing protocols
- QoS implementation, including Wi-Fi 7 QoS (MSCS)




- FCIP and Ruckus GRE tunneling

3. Telecom Protocol Stacks

- TR-069 and TR-181
- SS7 stack, including M3UA and SCCP
- SIGTRAN, EDPL, and LTE OAM

4. Hardware & Silicon Platforms

- Broadcom (BRCM) DNX architecture and chipsets
- Marvell CN10XX
- ARM and Intel x86 architectures

5. Programming & Development Tools

- Solid C programming and Data Structures
- GCC, Make, scripting, Git, SVN, CVS, Perforce, and ClearCase
- XR_dev and NX-OS development environments
- Jira

6. Debugging & Diagnostics

- GDB, addr2line, Wireshark, and core dump analysis
- System-level debugging, packet tracing, performance profiling, and root-cause analysis

Experience & Qualifications
- Strong experience in data-path development, silicon-based networking, or embedded networking software.
- Proven hands-on experience with networking protocols, packet processing, and performance optimization.
- Experience working with Broadcom DNX architecture is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, drive technical decisions, and deliver complex software projects.
- Experience managing the complete SDLC, from requirements and design through production deployment.

- Core Skills:
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and debugging .
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux systems (user-space processes, kernel, socket programming, IPC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities .
- Ability to work effectively in teams with strong interpersonal skills.
- Good-to-Have Skills:
- Knowledge of Internet Protocols (TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6).
- Familiarity with Service Provider Technologies (Access, Aggregation, Metro, Mobile Backhaul).
- Exposure to Networking Protocols (L2/L3, QoS/CoS, ACLs, Firewalls).
- Experience with XGS/DNX families (Jericho, Jericho2) is a plus.
