Job Opening: Senior Sheet Metal Designer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sheet Metal Designer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in sheet metal product design, fabrication drawings, and CNC manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in designing steel almirahs, wardrobes, cabinets, lockers, and custom sheet metal products, with the ability to independently manage designs from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop 2D drawings and 3D sheet metal models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Prepare production-ready DXF files, flat patterns, and CNC laser cutting drawings.
- Create accurate bending drawings considering K-factor, bend allowance, bend deduction, and tooling requirements.
- Design products considering manufacturability, structural strength, material utilization, and cost optimization.
- Prepare assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with CNC laser cutting, press brake bending, welding, and assembly teams.
- Independently manage custom product development and customer-specific design requirements.
- Improve existing products and develop creative sheet metal designs.
- Troubleshoot production-related design issues and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Guide junior designers and maintain drawing and design standards.





Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Sheet Metal Module and AutoCAD.
- Experience with CNC laser cutting and press brake bending processes.
- Excellent knowledge of flat-pattern development, bend allowances, K-factors, and fabrication tolerances.
- Ability to generate accurate, manufacturing-ready drawings and DXF files.
- Knowledge of MS, CRCA, and other sheet metal materials.
- Understanding of welding, fasteners, hinges, locks, and assembly mechanisms.
- Experience in material optimization and production cost reduction.

Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in sheet metal product design and manufacturing.
- Previous experience in steel furniture, metal cabinets, enclosures, or industrial sheet metal fabrication is preferred.

Ideal Candidate Someone who can independently manage the entire sheet metal design process, from 3D modelling and product development to laser cutting, bending, fabrication, and final assembly, with minimal supervision.
