SENIOR MANAGER – QA & PACKING

Job Location: Kanchad, Maharashtra

Position Summary The Senior Manager – QA & Packing is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality and food-safety systems, overseeing product quality from raw material receipt through finished-goods dispatch, and managing QA and packing operations. The role drives compliance, continuous improvement, team development and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

· Quality Systems: Develop and maintain quality assurance policies, procedures and standards. Take ownership of raw material quality, in-process quality, finished-goods quality and customer complaints.

· Testing, Audits & Food Safety: Lead quality assurance activities, including product tasting, product testing, inspections and process audits. Implement and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and support external audits such as HACCP, ISO 22000, Kosher and Halal.

· New Product Development: Lead new product introduction and improvement projects with stakeholders, oversee trials and sample segregation, and manage testing and evaluation until desired outcomes are achieved.

· Performance Analysis: Monitor quality performance using laboratory and field instruments, equipment and test methods. Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

· QA & Packing Team Management: Lead, train, mentor and review the QA and packing team. Optimise packaging processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimise costs.

· Compliance: Ensure processes comply with applicable laws, regulations and food-manufacturing quality standards.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with production,



engineering and SCM to integrate quality throughout the product lifecycle and coordinate product trials.

· Corrective & Preventive Actions: Investigate quality issues involving raw materials, processes, finished goods, packing, transportation and delivery. Conduct root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions and manage CAPAs.

· Reporting & Documentation: Prepare quality reports for senior management and maintain complete records of quality-related activities, product reviews and plant performance.

· Health, Safety & Workplace: Lead health, safety and environmental practices within the department. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective measures.

· Inventory & Packing Operations: Supervise daily packaging operations and monitor packaging-material stock, coordinating with procurement to ensure availability.

Qualifications & Skills

· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; qualification in Food Safety preferred as stated in the source.

· Quality Systems: Experience managing quality systems and QA/QC teams.

· Product Development: Experience in product testing, tasting and new product development.

· Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance in the food industry.

· Personal & Technical Skills: Self-motivated, able to handle multiple operations, collaborative, with strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and MS Office skills.

· Systems & Reporting: Proficiency in quality systems, auditing and reporting tools.
