We are looking for a technically competent and motivated Laboratory Technician who is passionate about veterinary diagnostics, maintains high professional standards, and is eager to develop advanced laboratory skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine veterinary diagnostic investigations, including haematology, clinical biochemistry, and other pathological examinations.
- Process and analyse veterinary biological samples, including blood, serum, plasma, faeces, and other clinical specimens.
- Perform microbiological procedures, including sample processing, staining, microscopy, and culture techniques where applicable.
- Conduct molecular diagnostic procedures, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and related testing workflows.
- Operate laboratory instruments and ensure their proper maintenance and performance.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), biosafety practices, and quality control requirements.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, sample traceability, test documentation, and timely reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability of diagnostic results.
- Assist in the introduction and validation of new diagnostic methods and advanced laboratory technologies.




- Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to maintain efficient operations and deliver high-quality services to veterinary professionals.

Technical Competence Candidates should demonstrate practical knowledge or hands-on experience in relevant areas:
- Veterinary Diagnostics: Understanding of animal clinical samples and routine veterinary laboratory investigations.
- Haematology and Clinical Biochemistry: CBC, blood cell analysis, biochemical testing, and related diagnostic procedures.
- Microbiology: Sample processing, staining, microscopy, and microbiological techniques.
- Molecular Biology: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and molecular diagnostic workflows.
- Laboratory Quality Management: SOP compliance, quality control, documentation, biosafety, and sample traceability.
- Equipment Handling: Protected operation, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.

Educational Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; or a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology or Veterinary Laboratory Technology.
- Candidates with relevant practical training or experience in veterinary diagnostics will be preferred.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in a veterinary, clinical, diagnostic, microbiology,



or molecular biology laboratory.
- Hands-on experience with PCR and nucleic acid extraction.
- Familiarity with haematology analysers, clinical biochemistry analysers, and routine diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of laboratory quality assurance and biosafety practices.
