Job Title: R&D; Executive – Mineral Oil Blending

About the Role

Weavers India is looking for an R&D; Executive to develop and improve mineral oil blends, conduct laboratory trials and support the transfer of successful formulations to production. The role requires practical experience in formulation development, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop mineral oil formulations and optimise existing blends to meet product performance, quality and cost requirements.
- Evaluate base oils, additives and alternative raw materials for compatibility and suitability.
- Conduct laboratory blending trials and establish suitable blending ratios, mixing sequences, temperatures and processing times.
- Perform or coordinate relevant testing, including viscosity, density, flash point, pour point, appearance and stability.
- Investigate issues such as separation, cloudiness, colour variation and inconsistent viscosity, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support pilot batches and production scale-up, ensuring laboratory results can be reproduced consistently.
- Prepare formulation sheets, trial reports,



product specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Work with production, quality control, procurement and suppliers to resolve technical issues and evaluate materials.
- Identify opportunities to reduce formulation costs while maintaining required product performance.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain accurate records of samples, tests and development work.

Qualifications and Skills

- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, or a related qualification.
- Hands-on experience in mineral oils, lubricants, specialty oils or similar blending applications.
- Understanding of base oil properties, additive compatibility and formulation principles.
- Familiarity with relevant laboratory instruments and ASTM/BIS testing methods.
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with production teams.

Preferred Experience

- Taking formulations from laboratory trials to commercial production.
- Working with raw material suppliers and evaluating substitute materials.
- Improving batch consistency and resolving blending-related quality issues.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
