We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Rental Credit Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing rent collections, monitoring tenant accounts, preparing reports, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding payments. The candidate should be highly presentable, possess strong communication skills, and be proficient in Excel and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor tenant accounts to ensure timely rent collections.
- Follow up on outstanding payments through calls, emails, and other communication channels.
- Maintain accurate records of payments, arrears, and account activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly collection reports.
- Analyze outstanding debts and provide recommendations for recovery.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Generate MIS reports and present collection performance updates to management.
- Maintain professional relationships with tenants and internal stakeholders.
- Support the finance team with month-end and year-end activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or Rental Collections.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, Reporting).
- Experience in preparing and analyzing reports and MIS dashboards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and debt recovery skills.
- Smart, professional, and presentable personality.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
- Solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the property, real estate, or rental industry.
- Knowledge of accounting software and CRM systems.
- Experience handling UK-based clients or rental portfolios will be an advantage.
