About the Role

Chennai Institute of Technology is looking for a highly motivated and well-connected Regional Placement Officer – Bengaluru to build and strengthen the institution’s presence among companies across the Bengaluru engineering and technology ecosystem. The role will focus on developing strong relationships with companies, creating recruitment opportunities for students, and building long-term industry collaborations across engineering, technology, manufacturing, automotive, electronics, semiconductor, AI, software, and other relevant sectors. This is a relationship-driven and target-oriented role requiring someone who can independently open doors, build trust with senior industry stakeholders, and convert relationships into meaningful recruitment and industry engagement opportunities.

Responsibilities

- Industry & Corporate Connect
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with companies, HR leaders, business heads, engineering leaders, founders, and senior executives across Bengaluru.
- Identify and establish connections with companies that have strong demand for engineering and technology talent.
- Build a strong regional industry network for the institution.
- Represent the institution at industry forums, networking events, conferences, HR meets, technology events, and corporate engagements.

- Recruitment & Placements
- Identify companies with potential hiring requirements and bring them into the institution’s recruitment ecosystem.
- Generate opportunities for internships, full-time placements, graduate engineering roles, and lateral/industry-linked opportunities.
- Understand company requirements and coordinate with internal placement teams to facilitate recruitment drives.
- Develop new corporate accounts and continuously expand the recruiter base.
- Drive repeat hiring from companies by developing long-term relationships.

- Industry Collaboration
- Identify opportunities beyond recruitment, including:
- Industry-sponsored projects

- Industry visits
- Guest lectures and expert sessions
- Centres of Excellence
- Curriculum and skill-development partnerships
- Joint research and consultancy

- Convert promising corporate relationships into structured institutional collaborations and MoUs.

- Bengaluru Market Development
- Develop a strong understanding of the Bengaluru engineering and technology ecosystem.
- Map companies across key sectors and proactively approach relevant organizations.
- Build a pipeline of prospective recruiters and industry partners.
- Maintain regular engagement with existing and prospective corporate partners.

- Student–Industry Interface
- Understand industry skill requirements and communicate these insights internally to strengthen student preparedness.
- Facilitate meaningful interaction between students and industry professionals.
- Support initiatives that improve students' exposure to current industry practices and career opportunities.
- inpendently drive activities from lead generation to closure.

- Key Performance Indicators
- The role will be evaluated on measurable outcomes including:
- Number of new companies brought into the recruitment ecosystem
- New engineering/technology recruiters onboarded
- Number and quality of internship opportunities generated
- Number of full-time recruitment opportunities generated
- Placement offers generated through regional corporate relationships
- New industry collaborations initiated

Qualifications

- Essential
- Bachelor's/Master's degree; preferably in Engineering, Management, HR, Business Development, Industry Relations, or a related field.

Required Skills

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in industry relations, corporate relations, campus recruitment, placements, business development, talent acquisition, or a similar role.
- Prior experience working with engineering/technology companies is strongly preferred.
- Strong existing network among companies and decision-makers in Bengaluru.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to independently identify opportunities and convert them into tangible outcomes.
- Strong understanding of engineering and technology talent requirements.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Bengaluru and surrounding industrial/technology clusters.
