Role Description The Purchase Engineer is a full time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities for elevator and escalator components, materials, and services. This position involves evaluating supplier quotations, preparing and processing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery in line with project and production schedules.

The Purchase

Engineer will coordinate closely with engineering, projects, and warehouse teams to understand technical requirements, optimize purchase planning, and maintain adequate inventory levels.



Daily tasks include monitoring vendor performance, analyzing costs, negotiating terms within company guidelines, and updating purchasing records and reports to support informed decision-making. The role also requires adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards, while contributing to continuous improvement in purchasing efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

- Solid understanding of purchasing processes, including purchase management and purchase planning.
- Hands-on experience in creating, managing, and tracking purchase orders in ERP or similar systems.
- Demonstrated analytical skills for cost comparison, vendor evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and components, preferably in elevators, escalators, or related industries.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain constructive supplier relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or a relevant technical discipline.
- Prior experience in procurement or supply chain within manufacturing or construction is an advantage.
- Familiarity with quality standards, basic contract terms, and compliance requirements in purchasing.
