Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for our machine manufacturing operations. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing engineering materials, developing and managing vendors, negotiating prices, ensuring timely material availability, and coordinating with production, design, stores, quality, and accounts teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Handle end-to-end procurement of machine components, engineering materials, bought-out items, hardware, electrical items, and other production requirements.

· Source materials and components as per approved drawings, specifications, BOMs, and purchase requisitions.

· Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.

· Obtain quotations, compare commercial and technical offers, and negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.

· Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.

· Follow up with suppliers for pending orders and resolve delivery-related issues.

· Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Stores, and Accounts departments for procurement requirements.

· Ensure purchased materials meet the required quality, specification, quantity, and delivery timelines.

· Maintain proper purchase records, vendor data, quotations, comparative statements, and PO documentation.

· Monitor market prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.





· Develop alternate sources for critical and frequently purchased components.

· Handle supplier complaints, rejection, replacement, and corrective-action coordination.

Required Skills & Competencies

· Good knowledge of engineering procurement and machine manufacturing components.

· Solid knowledge of mechanical materials, components, hardware, fabrication items, machining items, bearings, fasteners, etc.

· Good vendor development and negotiation skills.

· Ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.

· Good analytical and commercial understanding.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet procurement deadlines

· Knowledge of ERP/Purchase Management software will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

· 4–6 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in a machine manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial equipment manufacturing company.

· Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

· Candidates with solid experience in engineering/machinery purchase will be preferred.

Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience, skills, and suitability for the role.
