Why This Role Exists
Spyne is expanding its business and exploring current opportunities to drive growth, build new revenue streams, and strengthen its position in the automotive retail ecosystem. We are looking for a high-agency generalist to work closely with the VP – Business and turn strategic priorities into executable business initiatives.
As a Program & Strategy Manager within the New Business team, you will operate at the intersection of strategy, business operations, analytics, and execution. You will identify opportunities, build business cases, structure programs, and drive cross-functional initiatives from concept to measurable outcomes.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can move seamlessly between a spreadsheet, a strategy discussion, a customer conversation, and an execution plan. You will be expected to bring structure to ambiguity, challenge assumptions with data, and take ownership of getting things done.
What You'll Do
- Drive new business initiatives: Identify and evaluate opportunities for new revenue streams, business models, partnerships, and market expansion. Translate promising ideas into structured business plans, pilots,
and scalable initiatives.
- Own strategic programs end to end: Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning Business, Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Operations. Define objectives, timelines, dependencies, and success metrics, ensuring initiatives move from planning to execution.
- Build business cases and financial models: Conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, pricing research, unit economics, and financial modelling to evaluate opportunities and support investment decisions.
- Enable business growth: Work with business leaders to identify growth levers, improve commercial effectiveness, evaluate customer segments, and develop strategies to improve revenue, margins, and retention.
- Drive data-backed decision-making: Build analytical frameworks, dashboards, and business reviews to track performance, identify gaps, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Explore partnerships and new markets: Evaluate strategic partnerships, vendor opportunities, distribution models, and market-entry strategies that can accelerate business growth.
- Build with AI and automation: Use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and other AI-powered platforms to automate workflows, analyse data, prototype solutions, and improve execution speed.
- Create executive-ready communication: Develop strategy documents, business reviews, presentations, and decision memos that communicate complex problems and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
- Build scalable operating mechanisms: Establish processes, governance frameworks, and performance metrics that improve execution discipline and help new initiatives scale efficiently.
Who Will Do Well Here
- Experience: 3–6 years in management consulting (MBB or equivalent), corporate strategy, business operations, a high-growth startup, or a founder's/business office role.
- Strong business acumen: Ability to understand business models, identify growth opportunities, and connect strategic decisions to commercial outcomes.
- Analytical rigour: Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, financial modelling, market research, and the ability to build and defend assumptions with data.
- End-to-end ownership: Demonstrated experience taking a project or initiative from problem definition through execution and measurable results, rather than stopping at recommendations.
- Cross-functional leadership: Ability to influence stakeholders across teams, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.
- AI-first mindset: Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve productivity, automate work, analyse information, or build functional prototypes.
- Structured communication: Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex analysis into clear recommendations and actionable plans.
- Comfort with ambiguity: A proactive, resourceful approach to solving open-ended problems in a fast-moving environment.
- Commercial orientation: Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical considerations such as revenue potential, cost, feasibility, and time to impact.
Why This Role?
- Build what's next: Work on new business opportunities that can meaningfully shape Spyne's next phase of growth.
- High-impact ownership: Take responsibility for important business initiatives, with direct visibility into decisions and outcomes.
- Work across the business: Gain exposure to strategy, commercial operations, product, finance, partnerships, and market expansion.
- Learn by executing: Move beyond presentations and recommendations to build, launch, and scale real business initiatives.
- Accelerate your growth: Develop the strategic, analytical, and execution capabilities required to grow into business leadership, general management, or strategy and operations roles.
If you enjoy solving ambiguous business problems, building structured plans from scratch, and turning ideas into measurable outcomes, this role offers the opportunity to help shape Spyne's next chapter of growth.
