· Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings, DXF/DWG files, fabrication drawings, flat patterns, and bending details used to prepare or verify CNC programs.
· Understand nesting, tool-paths, cutting/punching sequences, tool selection, material thickness, bend allowance, bend deduction, and process parameters relevant to the machines.
· Review and verify programs before production runs, ensure safe setup and correct tooling, and oversee first-piece inspection and dimensional verification.
· Guide CNC programmers and operators, identify program-related defects or production inefficiencies, and coordinate corrections with the relevant technical team.
· Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, downtime, scrap, and quality; coordinate with maintenance for machine faults beyond the team’s authorized troubleshooting scope.
· Ensure machine operation and program changes are carried out only by trained and authorized personnel in accordance with OEM instructions and company safety procedures.
1. Manpower & Team Leadership
· Lead production supervisors, CNC programmers/operators, fabricators, assemblers, helpers, and other assigned personnel. · Allocate manpower and workstations according to skills, workload, machine capacity, and delivery priorities.
· Set daily targets, review output and productivity, maintain discipline, and provide technical guidance and training as required.
· Coordinate shift planning and ensure clear communication across production teams.
1. Sheet Metal Design & Manufacturing Understanding
· Understand engineering drawings, fabrication details, material specifications, sheet thickness, flat patterns, and assembly requirements. · Review manufacturability of cleanroom panels, doors, ceilings, HVAC-related components, laboratory furniture, cabinets, and associated sheet-metal products.
· Coordinate with Design/Engineering for drawing clarifications, revision control, and practical manufacturing improvements.
· Ensure components can be fabricated, assembled, finished, and installed in line with approved project requirements.
1. Quality Control & Cleanroom Requirements
· Coordinate with Quality for in-process and final inspection of dimensions, cut-outs, hole positions, bend angles, fitment, finish, sealing, and product completeness. · Ensure products meet approved drawings, customer specifications, and applicable project requirements, including GMP/ISO requirements where specified.
· Control non-conforming output, identify root causes, and reduce rejection, rework, scratches, dents, finish defects, and dimensional errors.
· Ensure cleanroom-related components are protected from damage and contamination during handling, storage, assembly, and packing, as applicable.
1. Material, Stores & Inventory Coordination
· Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure availability of sheet metal, GI/CR/SS materials, aluminium profiles, insulation/filler materials, glass, hardware, sealants, coating materials, and other BOM-controlled items as applicable. · Monitor material consumption, yield, scrap, and wastage; implement measures to improve material utilization.
· Escalate shortages, supplier-quality issues, and delivery risks early and maintain appropriate material and production records.
1. Machines, Maintenance & Shop-Floor Safety
