2. Job Purpose To lead the process engineering, process development and technology transfer function for the bromine derivatives business, owning the transfer of new products from laboratory through kilo lab and pilot plant to commercial scale, and the design, economics, safety and commissioning of the processes and production blocks that support them.

3. Key Job Responsibilities

- Function Leadership: Lead the process engineering, process development and technology transfer function, and build and develop the process engineering team.
- Technology Transfer: Own technology transfer from R&D; through kilo lab and pilot plant to commercial scale, including absorbing technology from R&D; and witnessing pilot trials.
- Scale-Up Design Calculations: Own scale-up design calculations including heat transfer, mass transfer, crystallisation, vapour load, power consumption and utility sizing.
- Basic Engineering Packages: Own preparation, review and approval of basic engineering packages, PFDs, P&IDs;, process datasheets, design basis documents and control philosophies.
- Equipment Design & Sizing: Own design and sizing of process equipment including reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, dryers, pumps and filtration systems.
- Project Economics: Estimate project economics through opex and capex calculation based on mass balance, energy balance, equipment sizing and costing.
- Process Safety Governance: Lead process hazard reviews including HAZOP, FMEA and P&ID; design reviews.
- Commissioning & Start-Up: Lead commissioning and plant start-up support for new and expanded production blocks.
- Troubleshooting & Investigation:



Lead process failure investigation for deviations, OOS/OOT, low yield and reaction non-completion, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive action.
- Capacity & Cost Improvement: Drive capacity enhancement, cycle time reduction, debottlenecking, solvent recovery improvement and manufacturing cost reduction.
- Project & Vendor Management: Lead greenfield and brownfield project execution including equipment selection, vendor technical evaluation and offer finalisation, and represent the company in technical and commercial discussions with technology providers and vendors.

4. Educational Qualification & Experience

- Educational Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
- Relevant Experience: 1215 years in process engineering, process development and technology transfer, preferably in specialty chemicals, API or agrochemical intermediates.
- Proven experience leading technology transfer from laboratory through pilot to commercial scale.
- Experience in greenfield and brownfield project execution, including plant commissioning and start-up.
- Experience leading and developing a process engineering team.

5. Required Skills & Competencies A. Technical & Functional Skills

- Sound knowledge of batch process chemistry, unit operations and plant operations.
- Process design calculations heat transfer, mass transfer, reaction kinetics, crystallisation and power consumption.
- Equipment sizing and design for reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, dryers, pumps and filtration systems.
- Preparation and approval of PFDs, P&IDs;,



basic engineering packages and equipment datasheets.
- Process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, and AutoCAD.
- Opex and capex estimation, mass and energy balance, and project costing.

B. Scale-Up & Project Skills

- Technology transfer from laboratory to pilot and pilot to commercial scale.
- Greenfield and brownfield project planning, scheduling and execution.
- Vendor technical evaluation, offer review and equipment procurement support.
- HAZOP, FMEA and process hazard review leadership.
- Plant commissioning, start-up and qualification protocols.

6. Language Proficiency

- Mandatory Languages: English and Hindi.

7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be evaluated against agreed business and functional objectives, including:

- Number of products successfully transferred from laboratory to commercial production.
- Timeliness of project and scale-up milestones against approved schedules.
- Accuracy of capex and opex estimates against actuals.
- Yield, cycle time and solvent recovery improvement delivered.
- Zero safety incidents during scale-up, commissioning and start-up.
- Completeness and quality of basic engineering and technology transfer documentation.

8. Job Interfaces

- Internal Stakeholders: R&D;, Production, QA-QC, Projects & Engineering, SCM, EHS and Management.
- External Stakeholders: Equipment vendors, technology providers, engineering consultants and technical subcontractors.
