Position Title: Painter

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, stain, or protective coatings, and maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate has experience with diverse painting techniques, knowledge of standard industry equipment, and a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Surface Preparation: Inspect, clean, scrape, sand, and prime surfaces (drywall, plaster, wood, metal, concrete) prior to painting; fill cracks, nail holes, and seams with spackle, putty, or caulk.

- Material Application: Apply paint, varnish, stain, lacquer, and sealants using brushes, rollers, airless spray guns, and trowels to achieve smooth, even finishes.

- Site Setup &
- Protection:

Cover floors, furniture, fixtures, and surrounding areas with drop cloths, tarps, and painter’s tape to prevent damage and overspray.

- Color &

- Material Matching:

Mix, blend, and match paint colors and finishes to meet specific client, architectural, or design specifications.

- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain painting tools, sprayers, ladders, and scaffolding; safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials (paints, solvents, thinners) following safety regulations.

Adhere to OSHA/safety guidelines, proper ventilation protocols,



and PPE requirements (respirators, safety goggles, harnesses).

- Project Estimation: Assess project scopes, measure surface areas, and estimate necessary materials, labor time, and supplies.

Qualifications &

- Requirements

- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of professional experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting.

- Skills &
- Knowledge:

- Proficiency with standard painting tools (airless sprayers, rollers, edge brushes, power sanders).

- Strong understanding of paint types (latex, oil-based, epoxy, stains, sealers) and their proper applications.

- Familiarity with surface preparation techniques and drywall repair/patching.

- Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, bend, stretch, stoop, and reach overhead for long durations.

- Capability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials and ladders weighing up to 50 lbs.

- Comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, or aerial lifts.

- Education &

- Credentials:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Completion of a vocational training program or apprenticeship in painting is a plus.

- Valid driver’s license may be required for field positions.
