About the Role
We are looking for a China Sourcing & Contract Manufacturing Lead to own the Chinese side of our operations. Whether we are building a custom mold for a consumer electronics client or sourcing specialized deep-tech hardware, you will lock in specifications, negotiate target landed costs, and ensure absolute quality from the first sample to the final bulk shipment.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
- Vetting & Sourcing: Identify and qualify contract manufacturers (OEM/ODM) across China for diverse categories
- Contract Manufacturing Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end product development cycle-from interpreting the initial client brief to overseeing custom tooling, sampling, and mass production.
- Margin & Cost Optimization: Negotiate unit pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and tooling costs to ensure we hit the exact target landed costs quoted to our clients.
- Quality & Compliance Integration:
Coordinate with our internal QC teams for pre-shipment inspections. Work closely with our internal regulatory team to ensure all products meet Indian import compliance standards
- Supply Chain Predictability: Act as the bridge between Chinese factory floors and our internal logistics teams (freight and customs) to ensure timelines are met without friction.
What You Need (Requirements)
- 3-5 years of direct experience in sourcing, procurement, or contract manufacturing, exclusively focused on the China market.
- Deep understanding of the China-to-India supply chain corridor, including familiarity with Indian customs clearance workflows
- Proven ability to manage custom manufacturing projects (reading technical specs, understanding mold/tooling ownership, and navigating Design for Manufacturing).
- Solid negotiation skills with a track record of driving down Total Cost of Ownership while protecting margins.
- Exceptional operational discipline- you thrive on creating "perfect paperwork" and predictable outcomes.
Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)
- Fluency in Mandarin (speaking and reading) to negotiate directly with factory owners
- An engineering background or experience sourcing technical components for AI, robotics, or consumer electronics.
- An existing network of reliable OEM/ODM partners in hubs like Shenzhen, Guangzhou, or Ningbo.
