LIVE Eye News Services (LENS) is looking for a skilled and responsible News Editor to manage daily news operations, verify news content, coordinate with reporters and correspondents, and ensure the timely delivery of accurate, unbiased, and high-quality news across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

- News Editing: Edit and refine news stories, scripts, headlines, captions, and video news content for accuracy, clarity, and presentation.
- News Verification: Verify facts, sources, dates, locations, visuals, and reporter inputs before publishing or distributing news.
- Breaking News Management: Monitor breaking news and ensure quick, accurate, and timely updates.
- Reporter Coordination: Coordinate with bureau chiefs, reporters, cameramen, and stringers across India to collect and clarify news inputs.
- Content Quality Control: Check news footage, video scripts, graphics, and captions for factual errors, misleading information, and editorial quality.
- Editorial Judgment: Assess newsworthiness, relevance, credibility, and public interest before approving content.
- Digital News Publishing: Prepare and optimize news content for websites, YouTube, social media, and other digital publishing platforms.
- Headline and Script Writing: Write clear, engaging, and fact-based headlines, summaries, and video scripts.
- Editorial Guidelines: Ensure compliance with journalistic ethics, company policies, and applicable media laws.




- Coordination with Management: Escalate sensitive, disputed, unverified, or high-risk news to the Senior Editor or management.
- Deadline Management: Ensure news content is edited, verified, and delivered to clients or publishing teams within deadlines.
- Team Support: Guide junior editorial staff and help improve newsroom workflows and content quality.

Required Skills
- Strong Hindi and/or English writing and editing skills.
- Excellent news judgment and fact-checking abilities.
- Understanding of digital journalism and current affairs.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of video news production and digital publishing workflows.
- Familiarity with news monitoring tools and content management systems is an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with a news agency, digital news platform, TV channel, or newsroom.
- Ability to handle multiple news stories simultaneously.
- High standards of accuracy, impartiality, confidentiality, and editorial responsibility.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays when required.
