About the Role

St. Xavier’s High School, Koderma, invites applications from talented, passionate, and creative individuals for the position of Music Teacher. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in music, the ability to teach classical and instrumental music, and the skills to prepare student choirs for school assemblies, cultural programmes, competitions, and special events.

Candidates with additional skills in dance, art and craft, or other performing arts will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach music to students across different age groups through structured lessons and practical sessions.
- Train students in vocal music, including classical music, basic vocal techniques, rhythm, pitch, and voice modulation.
- Provide instrumental music training and encourage students to explore different musical instruments.
- Prepare and train student choirs for morning assemblies, school functions, competitions, and cultural events.
- Organise music rehearsals and coordinate performances for annual functions, festivals, celebrations, and special occasions.
- Develop students’ musical abilities, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and stage presence.
- Plan age-appropriate music lessons, activities, and performance-based assessments.
- Maintain and ensure the proper use, care, and upkeep of musical instruments and equipment.
- Collaborate with teachers and the school management to organise cultural and co-curricular activities.
- Support the school’s performing arts programme through innovative activities and student-led performances.
- Conduct additional music coaching and evening classes, as required, with applicable additional remuneration.

Qualifications & Skills
- Graduation in any discipline is required.
- Formal training, certification,



or a degree in music will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in classical music, vocal training, and/or instrumental music.
- Ability to train students in choir singing, group performances, and musical presentations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage students across different age groups.
- Strong classroom management, organisational skills, and a creative approach to teaching.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with experience in teaching music in schools or other educational institutions will be preferred.
- Practical expertise in Indian classical music, vocal music, and musical instruments is desirable.
- Experience in preparing school choirs, coordinating stage performances, and training students for competitions will be an advantage.
- Additional experience in dance, art and craft, or other performing arts will be a strong advantage.
- Ability to choreograph or coordinate multidisciplinary cultural performances is desirable.
- Willingness to participate in school events, rehearsals, and extracurricular activities.

Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly salary of ₹20,000 – ₹30,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and skill set.
