Job Summary

PROTEC is looking for a skilled and result-oriented Machine Designer with 35 years of experience in the auto component manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AutoCAD, 3D mechanical design software, engineering drawings, dimensional calculations, and machine design for manufacturing applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop industrial machines, mechanical assemblies, fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
- Prepare 2D engineering drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Use Auto CAD and 3D design software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.
- Perform engineering calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, fits, clearances, and material specifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; requirements, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Tool Room teams for design implementation.
- Develop and modify machine designs to improve productivity, quality, reliability and operational safety.
- Support machine development, installation, commissioning,



and troubleshooting.
- Ensure design feasibility, cost optimization, and compliance with manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain design documentation, drawing revisions, and technical records.

Required Skills

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 35 years of relevant experience in the auto component manufacturing industry.
- Strong command of AutoCAD and working knowledge of 3D mechanical design software.
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering calculations and precision measurements.
- Knowledge of tolerances, fits, GD&T;, machine components, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to develop practical, cost-effective designs based on production requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in industrial machine design, special-purpose machines (SPM), automation, tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Exposure to automotive manufacturing processes and productivity improvement projects.
