Role Description The Loco Pilot role is a full-time remote position responsible for operating locomotives used in internal and external material movement for the steel manufacturing process. Day-to-day tasks include safely driving locomotives, following prescribed routes and schedules, and coordinating with yard control, dispatch, and loading teams to ensure timely transport of raw materials and finished products. The role involves performing basic pre-operation checks, monitoring locomotive performance, and reporting any issues for maintenance.

The Loco

Pilot is expected to maintain accurate records of trips, loads, and operational incidents, and comply with all safety protocols, signaling systems, and regulatory guidelines. The position requires clear communication with supervisors and colleagues,



adherence to standard operating procedures, and readiness to respond appropriately in emergency or unexpected situations while working remotely with digital communication tools and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong operational skills in locomotive or rail vehicle handling, including adherence to signaling, speed limits, and safety guidelines.

- Candidates should possess skills in monitoring equipment performance, conducting basic visual inspections, and reporting technical issues to maintenance teams.

- Candidates should possess positive communication and coordination skills to work effectively with dispatch, yard operations, and logistics personnel.

- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

- Candidates should possess the ability to use digital tools and remote communication systems for reporting, documentation, and real-time updates.

- Relevant experience as a loco pilot, train operator, or in industrial rail transport is highly beneficial.

- A valid and appropriate license or certification for locomotive operation, as required by local regulations, is preferred.

- Completion of secondary education; additional technical training in rail operations or mechanical systems is an advantage.

- Commitment to safety, willingness to work in shifts aligned with operational needs, and readiness to undergo periodic training and assessments.
