Legal Counsel – Global Commercial Contracts

Role Overview

A leading global organization in the integrated logistics and supply chain sector is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its global customer contracting and commercial legal agenda. The role will involve managing complex commercial agreements, leading contract negotiations, providing strategic legal guidance and balancing contractual risk with business priorities across international markets.

The successful candidate will partner closely with commercial, account management, product and other cross-functional teams to facilitate effective contracting, strengthen risk management and support business objectives in a dynamic, multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft, review, negotiate and finalize complex commercial, logistics, transportation and customer agreements.

- Independently manage the legal contracting process for an assigned region, ensuring timely execution and appropriate risk management.

- Lead negotiations for high-value and strategically significant customer contracts.

- Advise business stakeholders on contract structures, negotiation strategies, standard clauses and fallback positions.

- Identify contractual, legal and commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

- Partner with Commercial, Account Management, Product, Finance and other stakeholders to achieve commercially balanced contractual outcomes.

- Support contract governance, quality assurance,



knowledge management and the development of standard templates and best practices.

- Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement across the legal contracting function.

- Monitor relevant legal, regulatory and industry developments affecting commercial contracting.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master���s degree in Law.

- 8+ years of experience in commercial contract drafting, review, negotiation and management.

- Experience handling complex customer agreements within a multinational corporation or international law firm.

- Strong contract negotiation skills and the ability to independently manage high-value commercial agreements.

- Exposure to maritime, shipping, logistics, transportation or supply chain contracts would be an advantage.

- Experience working with international stakeholders across multiple geographies and business functions.

- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.

- Excellent written and spoken English; additional language proficiency is an advantage.
