About the Role The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering is seeking an accomplished academic and research leader who can contribute to the next phase of the department's growth through high-impact research, industry collaboration, sponsored projects, consultancy, international partnerships and technology-led innovation. We are particularly interested in professionals who have demonstrated the ability to bridge academia, industry and applied research.

Position

Professor / Senior Faculty – Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Responsibilities

- The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Lead and strengthen applied research within the Department.
- Develop large-scale industry-sponsored and government-funded research programs.
- Build strategic partnerships with leading national and international companies and universities.
- Drive consultancy, technology development and industry projects.
- Establish new research laboratories, Centres of Excellence and multidisciplinary research groups.
- Mentor faculty and researchers in developing competitive research proposals and publications.
- Guide Ph.D., postgraduate and undergraduate students in high-quality research and innovation projects.
- Create pathways for patents, technology transfer, licensing and commercialisation.
- Mentor student and faculty-led deep-tech and semiconductor startups.
- Develop international research collaborations and joint programs.
- Strengthen the department's visibility through high-impact publications, patents, funded projects, industry projects and international collaborations.
- Contribute to curriculum development with emphasis on industry relevance, emerging technologies and experiential learning.
- Represent the institution at major academic, industry and research forums nationally and internationally.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the Department as a leading centre for electronics, semiconductor technology, communication and applied research.

Qualifications

- Minimum Qualifications &





Experience

- Ph.D. in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, VLSI or a closely related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in academia, with significant experience in teaching, research and academic leadership.
- Robust academic and research credentials from reputed institutions.
- Demonstrated experience in building or leading research initiatives, laboratories, Centres of Excellence or academic-industry programs.

Required Skills

- We Are Looking For Candidates with a strong track record in one or more of the following areas:
- Applied and industry-oriented research addressing real-world electronics and communication challenges.
- Strong industry connections and engagement with semiconductor, electronics, automotive, telecommunications, embedded systems, aerospace, defence or technology companies.
- Demonstrated experience in industry-sponsored and consultancy projects.
- Track record of securing competitive research grants and externally funded projects from government agencies and industry.
- Strong publication record in reputed international journals and conferences.
- Patents, technology development, technology transfer or commercialisation experience.
- Experience translating research into prototypes, products, IP, semiconductor designs or industrial solutions.
- Established international research collaborations with universities, research institutions and industry.
- Experience developing and managing MoUs, joint research programs, faculty/student exchanges and international academic partnerships.
- Experience in mentoring startups, deep-tech ventures or technology-based entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Ability to build multidisciplinary collaborations in areas such as VLSI, semiconductor design, embedded systems, AI/ML, robotics, IoT, wireless communication,



RF/microwave, signal processing, power electronics, edge computing, photonics and advanced electronics.
- Experience establishing or strengthening Centres of Excellence, laboratories, research groups or industry-funded facilities.
- Strong record of student mentoring in research, innovation, entrepreneurship and industry projects.
- Experience supervising Ph.D. scholars and postgraduate research students.
- Demonstrated ability to attract and develop high-quality research talent and collaborative research teams.
- Strong professional network across academia, semiconductor companies, electronics OEMs, R&D; organisations and technology startups.

Preferred Skills

- Desirable Profile Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Academic experience at IITs, IISc, BITS Pilani, leading NITs or other reputed national/international universities.
- Significant experience working with or collaborating with leading semiconductor, electronics and technology companies.
- International academic or research experience.
- A strong record of externally funded and industry-sponsored research.
- Experience in semiconductor/VLSI design, chip development, fabrication, EDA, embedded systems or electronics product development.
- Successful technology commercialisation / technology transfer experience.
- Experience building industry-funded laboratories or Centres of Excellence.
- Experience in academic administration, department leadership or institutional development.
