Graduate Engineering Trainee— Hardware (Design& Validation)

Location: Bengaluru(on-site)

Experience: 0–1years. Final-year projects and internships count.

Type: Full-time, Graduate Engineering Trainee programme

Report to: Senior Engineer (Hardware)

About the role

We build connected hardware that goes into people's homes and workplaces, including a cellular life-safety device entering a 1,000-unit production run. When our hardware fails in the field, someone's safety device stops working.

In this role you will be: proving that boards work before they reach a customer, helping get new designs correct before they go to manufacture and spending time will go to testing and validation for the production run. You will take on design work, including new products built on ESP32, Nordic nRF, SimCom cellular and Raspberry Pi Pico platforms.

This role is hands-on. It lives on a bench with an oscilloscope and in a PCB design tool, not in simulation.

What you'll do — Validation

- Run, and over time improve, bring-up check lists and validation test plans for new board revisions
- Perform first-article verification and incoming inspection on contract-manufacturer builds: check populated boards against the BOM, and track yield and failure modes
- Run regression tests on every firmware release, including OTA update validation across multiple units and network conditions
- Write Python scripts for functional testing, data logging and pass/fail reporting, growing into production test automation
- Help design and build production test fixtures and jigs with the contract manufacturer's engineers
- Reproduce field failures on the bench and turn a vague report into a repeatable fault
- Own the defect log: every issue from report, through root cause, to verified fix
- Debug with oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter and bench power supply: measure current draw, probe signals, verify power rails

What you'll do — Design support

- Build and verify component libraries (symbols, footprints, 3D models) from datasheets, with every foot print checked against the real part
- Build and verify BOMs: part numbers, values, packages, lifecycle status, stock and alternate parts
- Check Gerbers, BOMs and pick-and-place files against a release checklist before they go to the manufacturer
- Maintain the DFM and manufacturer feedback log, design documentation and revision history
- Carry out schematic and layout work on R&D; and evaluation boards
- Write transparent test reports, failure analyses, and procedures the contract manufacturer can follow

Required

- Degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or E&TC; (2025or 2026 graduates welcome)
- Hands-on use of a multimeter and oscilloscope on real circuits, through labs, projects or internships
- Has used at least one PCB design tool (KiCad, Easy EDAor Altium) on at leastone project
- Understandsfootprints, pinouts and polarity, and canread datasheet tables
- Basics soldering, and willingness to learn SMT rework
- Python basics: reading files, using a serial port, writing scripts that parse data and report results
- Careful and methodical; records measurements and confirms a fix before calling it done.

Nice to have

- Has had a board fabricated and assembled, and soldered it themselves
- Projects with ESP32, nRF, STM32, Raspberry PiPicoor Arduino
- Internship in a test lab, EMS/contract manufacturer or product company
- Exposure to Bluetooth Low Energy or cellular devices
- Current measurement on battery-powered devices(for example with a power profiler)
- Basicpower design:buck converters,LDOs,protection
- Basic C, enough to read firmware

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Benefits

- Commuter assistance
- Flexible schedule
- Food provided
- Paid sick time
- Paid time off
