1. Job Summary

The English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to students of Classes V to X in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and NCERT textbooks. The teacher will develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, comprehension, and communication skills while promoting a love of English and academic excellence.

1. Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons according to the CBSE curriculum and prescribed NCERT textbooks.

- Teach English grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, prose, poetry, writing skills, and literary appreciation.

- Develop students’ spoken English, pronunciation, fluency, and communication skills.

- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, classroom activities, and teaching-learning materials.

- Conduct regular class tests, periodic assessments, projects, and examinations.

- Evaluate answer scripts, maintain academic records, and provide constructive feedback to students.

- Prepare question papers, model answers, and remedial learning materials.

- Support students who require additional academic assistance and provide enrichment activities for advanced learners.

- Prepare students for CBSE Class X board examinations, including competency-based questions, case-based questions, and writing tasks.

- Maintain classroom discipline and create an inclusive, positive, and student-friendly learning environment.

- Use smart classrooms, digital resources, and activity-based teaching methods wherever appropriate.





- Communicate students’ academic progress and areas for improvement to parents and school authorities.

- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, workshops, school events, and other academic activities.

- Follow school policies, CBSE guidelines, and skilled standards.

1. Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in English or a relevant subject from a recognised university.

- B.Ed. from a recognised institution, preferably in English.

- Strong command of English grammar, literature, and composition.

- Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.

- Ability to explain concepts clearly to students of different learning levels.

- Good lesson-planning, assessment, and communication skills.

- Familiarity with CBSE curriculum, NCERT textbooks, and competency-based learning.

- Basic computer skills and proficiency in digital teaching tools.
