Engineer - Design / Manager - Design (Trailer & Tipper)

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Minimum 02-08 years of experience in Trailer and Tipper design and development with reputed OEMs or reputed Body Builders.
2. Good knowledge of Trailer and Tipper materials, components, specifications, and applications.
3. Proficiency in SolidWorks, Pro/E (Creo), and AutoCAD is mandatory.
4. Ability to apply GD&T; and perform tolerance stack-up analysis for components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
5. Perform static and agile load calculations and provide engineering solutions based on customer requirements.
6. Thorough knowledge of Trailer and Tipper codes and standards, including AIS-113, and CMVR regulations.
7. Experience in sheet metal design, machining, and fabrication processes.
8. Thorough understanding of the Trailer manufacturing and build process.
9. Knowledge of Tipper body integration with the vehicle chassis.
10. Identify suitable materials and prepare Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM).
11. Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
12. Knowledge of CAE and FEA for structural analysis and design validation.
13. Coordinate with suppliers and procurement engineers to complete prototype development.
14. Provide technical support to suppliers and other departments to meet project and production requirements.
15. Independently select suitable materials with minimal guidance.
16. Provide on-the-spot technical solutions for field issues, fabrication problems, and production challenges.
17. Update engineering drawings and design data through reverse engineering.

Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams (CFTs) and demonstrate strong teamwork.
19. Conduct competitor benchmarking and identify opportunities for product improvement.
20. Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset, focusing on design simplification and quick problem-solving.

Secondary Responsibilities:-

1. Handle costing activities for Trailer and Tipper products.
2. Identify cost-reduction opportunities and support value engineering.
3. Optimize designs to improve product performance, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Additional Candidate Requirements:-

1. Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
2. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
3. Experience in component, sub-assembly, and complete assembly design.
4. Knowledge of material selection, load distribution, and structural strength calculations.
5. Ability to coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Procurement, and Suppliers.
6. Experience in prototype trials, design modifications, and production support.
7. Ability to manage design revisions, engineering documentation, and drawing releases.
8. Focus on product quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
9. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education:-

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering.
- Relevant Trailer & Tipper design experience with a reputed OEM or Body Builder is preferred.
