Our client, a specialty distributor focused on polymer compounds and masterbatches, is looking for an experienced Independent Consultant to support a short-term supplier development pilot in India for 4–6 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify potential small-to-medium manufacturers of polymer compounds and masterbatches in India.
- Map manufacturers specializing in engineering thermoplastic compounds, masterbatches, and related polymer materials.
- Assess potential suppliers based on product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities, market presence, and suitability for a distribution partnership.
- Identify and connect with relevant commercial and technical decision-makers at target manufacturing companies.
- Establish initial contact with potential suppliers to gauge their interest in exploring a distribution relationship.
- Facilitate substantive introductory discussions between the client and shortlisted manufacturers.
- Develop a qualified pipeline of potential manufacturing partners for further evaluation.
- Provide market insights on the supplier landscape, product capabilities, and potential partnership opportunities.
- Maintain a structured database of identified manufacturers, key contacts, discussions, and follow-up actions.




- Share regular progress updates and recommendations throughout the pilot engagement.

Skills Required Required Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience in supplier development, strategic sourcing, business development, or commercial roles within the polymers, plastics, or specialty chemicals industry.
- Strong understanding of polymer compounds, masterbatches, and the Indian manufacturing landscape.
- Existing network of small-to-medium manufacturers of polymer compounds and masterbatches in India.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and engaging potential manufacturing or distribution partners.
- Ability to connect with senior commercial and technical stakeholders and facilitate business discussions.
- Robust networking, communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of engineering thermoplastics and related polymer applications would be an advantage.
- Prior experience working with specialty chemical distributors, polymer compounders, masterbatch manufacturers, or plastics manufacturers is preferred.
- Must be available to undertake a 4–6 week independent consulting engagement in India.
