Job Title: Software Asset Manager / Application Portfolio Lead

Job Location: Coimbatore, India

Summary The Software Asset Manager / Application Portfolio Lead will establish and govern a consolidated view of the client’s engineering, quality, laboratory, analytics, collaboration, and cloud software ecosystem. The role will coordinate software inventory, licensing and renewals, application overlap assessment, usage and cost optimization, governance, and rationalization planning. The portfolio includes tools such as LabVantage, EtQ, Compliance Builder, Accuris, Windchill, Agile, Trovaré, Creo, SolidWorks, NX CAD, LabVIEW, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Mural, and AWS S3.

The role coordinates decisions and implementation with application owners and accountable IT, Engineering, Quality, Security, Procurement, Finance, and Validation stakeholders; it does not replace their technical or approval authority.

Responsibilities

- Maintain an application inventory with ownership, purpose, users, lifecycle, dependencies, and support information.
- Track software licenses, subscriptions, contracts, vendor support, usage, and renewal dates.
- Review license utilization and validate potential unused, underused, or duplicate licenses.
- Assess application overlap and document options to retain, optimize, consolidate, replace, or retire applications.
- Coordinate a consolidation roadmap with priorities, owners, dependencies, milestones, and risks.
- Track software costs, approved optimization actions,



and validated advantages.
- Coordinate portfolio reviews, decision logs, action trackers, and escalations.
- Coordinate applicable security, privacy, validation, change-control, and records-retention reviews with accountable teams.
- Prepare dashboards and reports on inventory, utilization, renewals, costs, risks, and roadmap progress.

Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Typically 5+ years of experience in software asset management, application portfolio management, IT service management, software licensing, procurement operations, or technology governance.
- Experience with application inventories, license registers, contract and renewal trackers, and management reporting.
- Knowledge of software licensing, subscriptions, vendor contracts, usage reporting, and total cost of ownership.
- Solid analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
- Familiarity with SAM/ITAM, CMDB, ITSM, contract-management, or procurement platforms is preferred.
- Experience in MedTech, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or another regulated industry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with validation, change control, data integrity, cybersecurity, or records retention is beneficial.
