JMN Medical College, West Bengal, seeks an accomplished academic leader to develop its Department of Anatomy into a centre of excellence in medical education, applied anatomy, research and ethical anatomical practice.

Remuneration: ₹3,00,000 per month | Full-time appointment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Departmental leadership: Implement a development plan with clear academic priorities, faculty responsibilities, resource requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Teaching excellence: Lead competency-based teaching across gross anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy and genetics, linking foundational knowledge with clinical practice.
- Practical and integrated learning: Strengthen dissection, prosection, microscopy, surface and radiological anatomy through structured practical sessions and collaboration with clinical departments.
- Student development: Establish fair assessments, competency tracking, mentoring, timely feedback and remedial support.
- Cadaver management and ethical practice: Oversee authorised body-donation arrangements, consent documentation, cadaver receipt, preservation, secure records and dignified handling and disposal under applicable requirements.
- Infrastructure and safety: Develop the dissection hall, histology laboratory, museum, specimen collections and digital resources; ensure safe chemical handling, ventilation,



equipment maintenance and staff training.
- Faculty and research development: Mentor faculty, promote ethical research and quality publications, and organise academic collaborations and continuing education.
- Clinical skills and postgraduate readiness: Support approved cadaver-based workshops and assess readiness for a proposed postgraduate programme, subject to resources and regulatory approval.
- Compliance and accountability: Maintain accurate academic and departmental records, regulatory readiness and regular performance reviews.

ELIGIBILITY Recognised postgraduate qualification in Anatomy and eligibility for appointment as HOD and the faculty rank offered under applicable NMC regulations, including registration requirements where applicable.

Preference will be given to eligible Professors with demonstrated academic leadership, teaching excellence, research achievements and departmental development experience.
