Job Purpose
The Workshop Floor Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient job allocation, maintaining service quality standards, and monitoring technician productivity. The role ensures vehicles are serviced within promised timelines while maintaining Yamaha service standards and delivering high customer satisfaction.
- Supervise daily workshop floor activities and ensure smooth operations.
- Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload.
- Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion of service jobs.
- Coordinate with the service advisor for job card execution and priority handling.
1. Quality Control
- Conduct quality checks before vehicle delivery.
- Ensure service work follows Yamaha standard operating procedures (SOPs) .
- Monitor rework cases and take corrective action to minimize repeat issues.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Technician Management
- Supervise technicians and helper staff on the workshop floor.
- Track technician productivity and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to technicians.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and adherence to workshop rules.
- Job Card & Workflow Monitoring
- Ensure all service jobs are properly recorded through job cards.
- Track pending, in-progress, and completed jobs.
- Maintain proper documentation for warranty jobs and approvals.
- Inventory & Tools Monitoring
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of workshop tools.
- Coordinate with the spare parts department for timely availability of parts.
- Report any equipment issues to management.
- Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure workshop cleanliness and organized workspace.
- Implement safety practices for technicians and staff.
- Maintain Yamaha workshop standards and compliance.
- Customer Service Support
- Support service advisors in explaining technical issues if required.
- Ensure vehicles are delivered in clean and proper condition.
- Assist in handling escalated service complaints.
