Responsibilities

Design, implement, and own data-intensive, high-performance, scalable platform components.

Build, deploy, and optimize streaming infrastructure and foundational data-platform services.

Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and cross-functional partners on project design and implementation.

Participate in design reviews, code reviews, analysis, and performance tuning.

Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.

Coach and mentor engineers to help scale the engineering organization.

Requirements

Have 4+ years of software development experience.

Be proficient in at least one programming language and comfortable with multiple backend languages, preferably Java, TypeScript, Ruby, Go, or Python.

Have experience with at least one of MySQL, Redis, or PostgreSQL.

Demonstrate computer science fundamentals and strong API design skills.

Be comfortable working on geographically distributed teams and demonstrate ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus.





Have a track record of delivering work incrementally, gathering feedback, and iterating on solutions.

Be comfortable with React or similar frontend UI stacks, or be willing to learn.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Beam, Snowflake, Hadoop, Kubernetes, or Mesos.

Preferred qualifications include experience with security, encryption, identity management, authentication infrastructure, public cloud providers, large-scale data integration, batch and online systems, and distributed systems.
