Systra India's design business line is the leading design team for metros, highways, special bridges, Urban Planning and water projects in India. The team has designed over 900 kms of viaduct & Bridges along with 43 kms of tunnels and 82 underground stations, 345 Elevated & at-grade Stations, 19 Depots besides 300 plus stations being designed currently. The team has also completed 3,165 km of highways detail design projects and 22,506 km of design/ feasibility projects. We are seeking applications for the position of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant for renewable energy project in South Asia.

Missions/Main Duties

- The EHS Consultant shall review the environmental management and OHS plan to be prepared and submitted by the Contractor. The Consultant shall support DGPC PMU in the supervision of the implementation of the EMP and ensure that all environmental
protection measures, including dust control, noise suppression, and waste management, are followed by the EPC contractor.
- Conduct periodic site inspections to check for soil erosion, improper waste disposal, water source contamination, and air quality issues,



using photographic documentation for monthly reports.
- Oversee proper disposal of hazardous waste (such as oil, batteries and chemicals) and general construction waste, enforce spill prevention and control measures and ensure that hazardous waste is handled in alignment with the applicable national regulatory
frameworks and Basel Convention.
- Ensure the Project’s compliance with relevant national regulations and rules and ADB’s SPS 2009.
- Provide the overall guidance to the EHS Consultant (National) in the implementation of EMP OHS requirements.
- Work jointly with the EHS Consultant (National) in EMP/OHS review, site inspections, compliance monitoring, incident and corrective-action follow-up, reporting and capacity building.

Profile/Skills

- Master’s degree in environmental science, or Environmental Management, or Environmental Engineering.
- NEBOSH Certification or equivalent recognized Occupational Health & Safety certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in environmental, health, and safety management.
- Demonstrated experience in the assessment, implementation, and monitoring of Health & Safety Plans for energy, transmission, renewable energy, or other linear infrastructure projects.
