About the Programme NEN, supported by the Wadhwani Foundation, runs a structured growth programme for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) called Wadhwani FPO Entrepreneurship Program, in partnership with the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka (Centre of Excellence for FPOs). The programme works with FPOs across turmeric, ginger, dry chilli, coconut, pepper, and honey value chains, built around crop-specific cohorts, expert-led sessions, a digital onboarding platform, and buyer connections — all aimed at improving farmer member income. Karnataka is the current proof-of-concept cohort, with plans to expand the model to other states, including Andhra Pradesh. Role Overview We're looking for an intern who can be the on-ground and on-call link between our programme team, and the FPOs we work with — particularly FPOs in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Because a large part of this role involves speaking directly with FPO leadership and farmer members, fluency in both Kannada and Telugu is essential. An agriculture background is a robust plus — it'll help you understand what FPOs are actually dealing with, and put expert advice into context for them — but it isn't a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities
• FPO coordination: Be the regular point of contact for a set of partner FPOs across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh — their CEOs and Board of Director members — keeping them engaged through the programme.
• Programme delivery support: Support the scheduling and running of bootcamps, expert sessions (1-to-many and 1:1), and workshops — logistics, attendance tracking,

and follow-ups.
• Language bridge: Communicate with FPOs in Kannada and Telugu (calls, WhatsApp, in-person visits), and report back to the core team in English.
• On-ground coordination: Work alongside local coordinators (e.g., SADH officers in Karnataka) and travel to FPO clusters as needed.
• Data & reporting: Track participation, follow-ups, and outcomes for the FPOs you coordinate with, and flag issues back to the programme team early. Who We're Looking For
- Must have
• Fluency in Kannada and Telugu — spoken and written — plus working proficiency in English
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (final-year students may also apply)
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with FPO leadership and farmer members
• Comfortable with everyday digital tools (WhatsApp, Excel/Google Sheets, online forms)
• Willingness to travel within Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh Good to have
• Background in agriculture, agribusiness, or rural development
• Prior exposure to FPOs, cooperatives, or rural livelihood programmes
• Familiarity with any of the programme's focus crops: turmeric, ginger, dry chilli, coconut, pepper, honey What You'll Gain
• Direct, on-ground exposure to how FPOs actually operate and grow
• Close working experience with the Wadhwani Foundation / NEN programme team and the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka
• Hands-on experience in programme coordination, digital platform rollout, and stakeholder management across two states
