An HMC (Horizontal Machining Center) operator sets up, programs, and runs computer-controlled horizontal milling machines to shape metal and precision components. Responsibilities include reading technical drawings, adjusting tool and work offsets, monitoring machining runs, and inspecting finished parts to meet quality and dimensional standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Setup: Load raw materials, set up fixtures, pallets, and cutting tools, and perform trial runs.
- Programming & Adjustments: Read and interpret engineering drawings, and write, edit, or modify G-code and M-code programs (Fanuc, Mazatrol, or DMG MORI controls).
- Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools like micrometers, Vernier calipers, and gauges to check tolerances and surface finishes.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Observe active cuts, adjust tool offsets,



and resolve minor mechanical or programming errors during production.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine daily machine housekeeping, check coolant levels, and follow shop floor safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: ITI in Machinist/Fitter or a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ BE - Any.
- Experience: 0 to 3 years of hands-on experience in HMC/VMC operation, setting, and programming (often required as a Setter-cum-Operator).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding GD&T;, and handling multi-axis machine controls

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
