Role & responsibilities

To prevent and minimize loss of company assets, including merchandise, cash, and property by implementing effective loss prevention strategies, monitoring store operations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory & Shrinkage Control

- Monitor store inventory movements and identify reasons for shrinkage.
- Conduct surprise physical stock audits at stores.
- Investigate stock shortages, excess inventory, and discrepancies.
- Ensure proper segregation of Metro brands and partner brands inventory where applicable.
- Analyse stock variance reports and recommend corrective actions.

2. Store Surveillance & Monitoring

- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity.
- Investigate internal theft, shoplifting, and operational lapses.
- Ensure proper security procedures and store opening/closing protocols are followed.

3. Process Compliance

- Ensure adherence to inventory management SOPs and company policies.




- Conduct process audits at stores and warehouses.
- Identify control gaps in store operations and recommend improvements.

4. Investigation & Reporting

- Conduct investigations into stock loss, fraud, or policy violations, Forensic Investigations
- Prepare detailed investigation reports and share with management.
- Coordinate with HR and management for disciplinary actions where required.

6. Coordination

- Coordinate with store operations, warehouse, finance, and audit teams.
- Support annual / quarterly stock takes.
- Assist in implementing technology-driven solutions for asset protection.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Reduction in inventory shrinkage percentage
- Accuracy of physical stock vs system stock
- Number of loss prevention audits conducted
- Forensic Investigation
- Closure of investigation cases
- Compliance level across stores

Experience

- 78 years of experience in Retail Loss Prevention / Asset Protection / Store Audit
- Experience in footwear, apparel, or retail chains preferred
