Senior Java Developer – Human Resources Systems

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Java Developer to join our Human Resources department and spearhead the design, development, and optimization of our HR technology solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create robust, scalable applications that empower our HR professionals to deliver best-in-class employee experiences. Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications that support HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and payroll.
2. Collaborate with HR stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
3. Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and uphold coding standards and best practices.
4. Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and security, ensuring compliance with relevant data privacy regulations.
5. Integrate third-party services and APIs to extend HR platform capabilities.
6. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing hands-on support as needed.

Contribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmaps to align with organizational goals.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2. 5–10 years of skilled experience in Java development with a strong grasp of core Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
3. Proven experience building and maintaining enterprise-level applications, preferably in HR or similar domains.
4. Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
5. Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM tools (e.g., Hibernate).
6. Strong knowledge of software development best practices, version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
8. Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
2. Exposure to DevOps practices and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
3. Familiarity with front-end frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue) to facilitate full-stack development.
4. Knowledge of HRIS solutions, payroll systems, or other HR technology tools.
5. Certification in Java or cloud technologies.
