Senior Java Developer

Join our dynamic Operations department as a Senior Java Developer, where you will drive the design, development, and optimization of mission-critical applications that power our business. Working alongside talented engineers and cross-functional stakeholders, you will leverage your deep Java expertise—and complementary skills in Python and SQL—to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions that keep our operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications supporting core operational workflows.
2. Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to refine requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
3. Optimize SQL queries and database schemas to ensure high performance and data integrity across large data sets.
4. Develop and maintain reusable, well-documented code, adhering to best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
5. Mentor and guide junior developers, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid incident resolution.
7. Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and provide accurate estimations for development tasks.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. 3–10 years of hands-on software development experience, primarily in Java.
3. Robust proficiency in Java SE/EE, including multithreading, collections, and JVM performance tuning.
4. Solid working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or microservices.
5. Expertise in SQL, relational database design, and performance optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
6. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
7. Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code in an Agile environment.
8. Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have:

1. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
2. Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar frameworks.
3. Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
4. Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven systems.
5. Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
