Role Description The Research Assistant role at Jol Energy is a full-time, in office position based in Vellore.

The Research

Assistant will support experimental work in laboratories, assist in setting up and running tests related to material recovery, and document procedures and findings accurately. Daily responsibilities include collecting samples, conducting measurements, recording and organizing data, and contributing to data analysis for ongoing research projects. The role also involves preparing basic reports, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and collaborating with scientists and engineers on research activities.

Assistant is expected to follow safety protocols, support continuous improvement of experimental methods, and participate in team discussions to refine research approaches.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Research and Laboratory Skills to conduct experiments, handle samples, and follow standardized procedures.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Data Analysis capabilities to interpret results, identify trends, and support evidence-based conclusions.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to document work clearly, prepare summaries, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant academic background in chemistry, materials science, environmental science, engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) is beneficial.
- Attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are important.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory instruments, scientific software, and standard operating procedures in research environments is an advantage.
