- A Quality Control (QC) Microbiologist ensures that raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and manufacturing environments are free from harmful microbial contamination. They work primarily in industries like pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food and beverage, and medical devices to maintain safety standards and regulatory compliance (such as cGMP and GLP).

- Role Overview Primary Objective: Test, monitor, and report on the microbiological safety and sterility of products and cleanroom/water systems.

- Key Industries: Pharmaceuticals, Biopharmaceuticals, Food Processing, Cosmetics, and Contract Laboratories.

- Typical Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related life science field (Master's preferred for senior roles).





- Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Microbiological Testing: Perform bioburden testing, sterility testing, microbial limit tests (MLT), and bacterial endotoxin tests (BET). Conduct growth promotion tests, Gram staining, and microbial identification. Analyze raw water, purified water, potable water, and process water systems.
