Purchase Engineer

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for power electronics components and systems.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and budget constraints.
- Maintain robust relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.

- Purchase Planning and Coordination:

- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Develop detailed procurement plans for power electronics projects, ensuring that materials and equipment are ordered in a timely manner.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure that there is no disruption in the supply of critical components.

- Cost Management:

- Ensure that procurement stays within the approved budget for Capex projects.
- Analyze cost structures and work with vendors to optimize pricing and delivery terms.
- Approve purchase orders and oversee invoice approvals in line with financial controls.

- Technical Evaluation and Compliance:

- Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet the technical specifications required for power electronics systems.
- Work with the engineering team to conduct technical evaluations of potential suppliers and products.




- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for power electronics equipment.

- Project Support:

- Track and manage the progress of procurement against project timelines to ensure that equipment is delivered and installed as per schedule.
- Assist in troubleshooting procurement-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of procured items into the project.

- Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain comprehensive records of all purchase transactions, supplier communications, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, project status, and cost control for senior management.
- Ensure proper documentation of all purchase orders, contracts, and warranties.

- Risk Management:

- Identify potential risks related to procurement (e.g., price fluctuations, supply chain disruptions) and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
- Maintain contingency plans in case of delays or other procurement issues.

- Continuous Improvement:

- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Implement best practices in procurement management and stay up-to-date with industry trends in power electronics and supply chain management.
