Skate Supply India

Chandigarh

Job type: Full-time

Location: Our Mumbai office, work from office

Start date: Within 2 weeks of offer

Skate Supply India is a skateboard and streetwear brand featured on Shark Tank India Season 4, built on the culture of the street, the park and the shop. We are hiring a Graphic Designer for our Mumbai office who can make ads and product graphics that stop the scroll and sell the product.

What you’ll do:

- Design paid and organic ads for Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and web: static posts, carousels, stories and banners.
- Design eye-catching thumbnails and cover images for our Reels and short videos that make people stop and tap.
- Create campaign visuals for product drops, collabs, team rider features and seasonal collections.
- Build layouts where the product, headline and call-to-action read in the right order at a glance, even on a small phone screen.
- Choose color palettes and type that match each drop’s mood while staying recognizably on-brand.
- Design or adapt graphics for tees, hoodies, hats, stickers and skate decks when needed.
- Make several versions of an ad (headline, color, crop, layout) so we can test what performs, then use the results to improve the next round.
- Explain your design decisions clearly: who the ad is for, what it should make them feel, and why the layout supports that.

What we are looking for:

1. Color - You understand contrast, color harmony and how color affects mood and attention. You know how to make a product pop against a background and how colors shift between screen and fabric.
2. Typography - You pick fonts with intent. You know how weight, spacing and pairing change the tone of a message, and you can make type feel raw and street without becoming hard to read.
3. Layout and text placement - You understand visual hierarchy, balance, negative space and how the eye moves through an image. You know where a headline and call-to-action should sit so they get seen on a busy feed.
4.

Ad thinking - You can look at an ad and explain why it works or doesn’t: the hook, the message, the audience and the action it drives. You care about results, not just looks.

You also bring:

- 2+ years of graphic design experience, with ads or social content in your portfolio.
- Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; InDesign or Figma is a plus.
- A real feel for skate and streetwear culture: you know the brands, the references and what feels authentic versus try-hard.
- Comfort taking feedback, working quick on drop deadlines and juggling several projects.

Nice to have:

- Hands-on with AI tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Photoshop Generative Fill, ChatGPT or similar) and you know how to use them to speed up concepts, mockups and variations without losing the brand’s look.
- Hand-drawn illustration, lettering, or a collage and zine style.
- Experience with apparel or deck graphics and print production.
- Basic motion skills (After Effects, CapCut or similar) for Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Photo editing and retouching for product and lifestyle shots.
- Familiarity with ad metrics like click-through rate and A/B testing.
- You skate, or you’re close to the scene.

How to apply

1. Send the following to [email protected] with the subject line “Graphic Designer – [Your Name]”:
2. Your portfolio link, with at least 3 ads or social campaigns.
3. For 2 of those pieces, a few sentences on why you made the choices you did: colors, fonts, layout and who it was aimed at.
4. One ad you love from any brand (skate, streetwear or otherwise) and a short note on why it works.

Shortlisted candidates will get a short design task: an ad for one of our products, plus a quick walkthrough of your thinking.

PS: This isn’t a role for someone who just makes things look nice. We want a designer who knows why a graphic works: why this color pulls the eye, why this font fits the attitude, why the headline sits here and not there. You’ll own the visual side of our ads and campaigns, and you’ll be able to explain and defend every choice you make.
