Competency:

Internal Application Development, Data Visualization & Dashboards, Operational ConsolesJob Mode:

Onsite:

ROLE PURPOSE

RightWalk Foundation works with state governments to make existing entitlements actually reach the people they were written for. The programme and technology teams that do this work run on internal tooling: dashboards that show how NAPS and RTE campaigns are moving, operational consoles for the ChaturAI stack, and the agent-facing consoles our teams use every day to handle citizen conversations. Much of that reporting and operational work is still manual and spreadsheet-driven.

This role owns the front end for internal applications: the tools and data-visualisation surfaces the programme and engineering teams use to run and monitor delivery, and the operational consoles our delivery workflows depend on. You report to the Engineering Lead, Technology, and work directly with backend engineers and programme users in Delhi. This is a build-and-own role, not pixel implementation of someone else's mockups — success depends on getting close enough to programme users to know what they actually need on screen, then shipping it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Internal Application Development

- Own end-to-end frontend delivery of internal tools — from a rough programme requirement to a working, deployed application.
- Build in React and VueJS as the situation demands, keeping a shared component vocabulary so our tools look and behave consistently.
- Shape the API contracts you consume together with the backend engineers, rather than waiting for a spec to arrive.
- Own build tooling, dependency hygiene, and deployment for the frontend applications you build.

1. Data Visualisation & Dashboards

- Own the dashboards that show programme performance — NAPS and RTE funnel movement, conversation volumes, and drop-off points.
- Turn ambiguous questions from the programme team into views that answer them without needing a training session.
- Build for the data we actually have: fast loads, sensible pagination, and honest empty and error states.
- Keep visualisations trustworthy — what appears on screen must reconcile with the source data.

1.

Operational Consoles & Support Tooling

- Own the operator-facing consoles our teams use daily, including customisation of the self-hosted Chatwoot dashboard (VueJS) where the standard agent workflow does not fit.
- Keep customisations of third-party open-source tools upgradeable across upstream releases rather than forked into a dead end.
- Work with the ChaturAI backend team on the surfaces agents rely on — conversation context, bot state, and human escalation.
- Respect data sensitivity in every interface: show operators what they need, and no more beneficiary data than that.

1. Craft, Usability & Quality

- Own usability for non-technical users — our operators are programme staff, not power users.
- Drive accessibility and responsive behaviour as a default, not a clean-up pass before launch.
- Write tests for the parts that fail silently, and instrument what users actually click.
- Take your own work to production and fix what breaks there, rather than handing it over.

1. Working With the Team

- Sit with programme and PMU users to scope tools before building — and push back on requests that do not need software.
- Partner with backend engineers on data models and API shapes early, before the UI is built around the wrong shape.
- Keep documentation and handover notes current so a tool does not die with its author.

COMPETENCY MATRIX

Functional (Technical) Competencies

Core (Behavioural) Competencies

VueJS: component architecture, state management, and working confidently inside a large existing open-source codebase.

User empathy: builds for programme staff and checks afterwards whether the tool actually got used.

React: modern hooks-based development with sound state and data-fetching patterns.

Ownership: ships to production and stays with the tool after launch.

Data visualisation: charting libraries, dashboard layout, and turning raw datasets into readable views.

Pragmatism: chooses the simplest thing that works over the most interesting thing to build.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

- Education: B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline; strong self-taught developers with a demonstrable portfolio of shipped applications will be considered.
- Experience: around 3 years building production web applications in VueJS and/or React.
- Preferred: internal-tools or dashboard-heavy product experience, customisation of an open-source dashboard or admin product, and hands-on work with data-visualisation libraries.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

- Delivery throughput: internal tools shipped to production and in active use by programme or engineering teams.
- Adoption: share of intended users on each tool weekly, versus reverting to spreadsheets.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE — YEAR 1

- At least two internal applications live and used weekly by programme or engineering teams.
- One programme dashboard in production that replaces the manual reporting the team assembles by hand today.
- Operator-console customisations running in production and carried cleanly through at least one upstream release

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Experience: around 3 years in frontend engineering, including at least one application you owned end to end in production.
- Strong in VueJS or React and willing to work in both — this role does not get to pick one framework.
- Comfortable with ambiguous requirements from non-technical users, and able to shape them into scope yourself.
- Language: professional English; working Hindi is practical for collaboration with programme teams.

WORK CONDITIONS

- Onsite in New Delhi. Occasional support during campaign peaks when dashboards and operator tools are under heavy use.

WHAT WE OFFER / COMPENSATION

- Compensation benchmarked to the Indian social-sector technology market and calibrated to experience — with end-to-end ownership of the tools that run RightWalk's programmes.
