Role

We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Lead - Data Governance & Analytics to spearhead our data strategy. The candidate will be responsible for maturing our data governance frameworks, managing our BI/Tableau development team, and building a greenfield Data Analytics and AI practice. He/She will ensure our data assets are accurate, secure, compliant, and leveraged to drive strategic business decisions to support HDBFS’ strategic objectives and regulatory compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Data Governance & Management

1. Establish and mature the enterprise Data Governance Framework (including data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data catalogs).
2. Partner with risk, compliance and Data security teams to ensure data practices align with RBI regulations and Information Technology Act requirements.
3. Define data ownership, stewardship policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all business verticals (e.g., Credit, Collections, Sales).

2. BI & Reporting Leadership
1. Manage, mentor, and scale the existing team of Tableau (BI) developers and Data Governance analysts.
2. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of interactive dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting suites to support business growth.





3. Advanced Analytics & AI Practice Setup
1. Lead the inception of the organization's AI and Advanced Analytics practice from the ground up.
2. Identify high-impact use cases for AI/ML (e.g., credit underwriting, risk scoring, churn prediction, cross-sell, and collections optimization).
3. Transition the organization from descriptive reporting to predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science / Statistics / Economics, Business Administration, or related quantitative field.
- 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, BI, Analytics and related roles, with experience in team handling.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (specifically DPDP) and industry standards related to data privacy and security.
- Excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and drive change in a complex organizational setting.
- Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., DAMA, DM-BOK, CDMP, etc.) is a plus.
