Backend Developer || 3–4 Years of Experience

About the Role:

We are looking for a Backend Developer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and optimising production-grade backend systems.

In this role, you will work across backend services powering consumer applications, admin portals, and internal dashboards. You will be responsible for developing APIs, managing databases, integrating third-party services, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to system design and performance improvements.

We are looking for someone with strong practical knowledge of Java/Spring Boot and/or Node.js/NestJS, solid software engineering fundamentals, and a robust sense of ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and business logic.
- Work with existing codebases and independently implement changes across backend services.
- Manage and optimise databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Build and maintain integrations with internal services and third-party platforms.
- Participate in low-level design discussions and follow clean-code practices, OOP principles, and design patterns.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to code reviews.
- Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and technical debt.
- Collaborate with Product, Frontend/Mobile, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Contribute to deployments, monitoring, technical documentation,



and production support.

Technical Skills & Requirements

Must Have:

- 3–4 years of hands-on backend development experience in production environments.
- Strong practical experience with Java/Spring Boot and/or Node.js/NestJS.
- Good understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean-code practices.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including queries, indexing, transactions, and performance optimisation.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and service-to-service communication.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and release practices.
- Ability to understand existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to component-level design.

Good to Have:

- Experience with AWS and/or GCP.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to messaging systems such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Sentry.
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
