We believe the experience begins before the product does. What if a box was more than a box? What if the tape, the message inside, the way a product was revealed, the instruction card, even the tiniest sticker — all felt like they belonged to one thoughtful, beautifully designed experience? At NOT Drones, we're building a consumer technology brand, and we believe the experience of owning a product starts long before someone switches it on. We're looking for a designer who thinks beyond the product and obsesses over everything around it. Someone who finds inspiration in how brands like The Whole Truth, Teenage Engineering and other design-led consumer brands turn ordinary touchpoints into something memorable. What you'll create01. Packaging artwork and everything around it Own the visual design of our packaging — from the main retail box to the smallest printed detail. Translate ideas into compelling packaging artwork through typography, colours, graphics, illustrations, imagery, layouts and visual storytelling. 02. The unboxing experience What does a customer see first? What do they discover next? How does everything sit inside the box? You'll design inserts, inner trays and box graphics, product presentation, protective packaging and the sequence in which a customer discovers everything inside. 03. The little things that make a brand Thank-you notes, welcome cards, stickers, seals, tapes, labels, instruction cards, quick-start guides, quote cards and unexpected little details. You'll find opportunities to turn functional elements into moments of delight — without adding unnecessary clutter or cost. 04. Packaging with a point of view Explore how design, words, illustrations, visual storytelling and materials can express who we are as a brand. 05.
A consistent experience across every product Build a recognisable packaging language across our product range while giving each product its own character. From a new launch to an upgraded SKU, every detail should feel intentional and unmistakably part of the brand. 06. From your imagination to a physical product Take your ideas beyond mockups. Work with our product, R&D;, marketing and operations teams, along with printers and packaging vendors, to turn concepts into things people can actually hold. Experiment with papers, finishes, materials, printing techniques and formats. Make prototypes, test ideas, refine them and see your work come to life. How we imagine you
• You notice packaging. You probably have a collection of boxes, labels, cards or objects you couldn't bring yourself to throw away because the design was just that good.
• You think in experiences, not just layouts. You're curious about what someone sees, feels, reads and discovers when interacting with a product.
• You have an eye for detail. Typography, spacing, colour, materials and composition matter to you — even when nobody explicitly asks.
• You enjoy exploring ideas. You're comfortable sketching, experimenting, making mood boards, building mockups and trying something that might not work the first time.
• You can think in words and visuals.
You don't need to be a copywriter, but you understand how a line of text, a small illustration or a clever message can transform a design.
• You care about the real world. You understand that a beautiful concept must also be manufacturable, durable, practical and commercially sensible.
• You're curious about consumer brands and physical products. You enjoy understanding why some products feel special, why some brands are instantly recognisable and why certain experiences stay with us. What you'll bring
• A strong portfolio demonstrating visual thinking, creativity and attention to detail.
• A valuable foundation in typography, layout, colour, composition and visual storytelling.
• Working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; InDesign or other relevant tools are a plus.
• An interest in packaging, branding, editorial design, product design, illustration, print or physical experiences.
• A willingness to learn about materials, print production, packaging formats and working with vendors. Prior packaging experience is useful, but we're more interested in how you think, what you notice and what you're capable of creating. A note before you applyThis isn't a role where you'll only receive approved artwork and update files for production. We want someone who enjoys exploring ideas, proposing new approaches and taking ownership of the complete experience. If your favourite part of design is making something functional feel thoughtful, simple feel distinctive, and ordinary feel memorable, we'd love to see your work. Work experience req: 1/2 years in design or related field See you in our inbox
