Live Operator – Sports Broadcasting & Streaming

Location:
Prabhadevi , Mumbai Department: Live Operations Reporting To: Event Manager Work Schedule: 24×7×365 rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to work at short notice is essential. This is a full-time, office-based role. Role Overview The Live Operator is responsible for monitoring and managing live sports and entertainment streams, ensuring uninterrupted delivery, broadcast quality, and timely issue resolution. The role involves working closely with Live Operations Supervisors and internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Live Streaming: Operate and monitor live video streams during sports and entertainment events.
- Quality Control: Monitor audio-video (AV) quality and manage pre-event, mid-event, and post-event slating, along with VOD clipping.
- Event Coordination: Follow Master Run Orders (MROs), Digital Ad (DA) cues, communication protocols, and production instructions.
- Issue Resolution: Identify streaming issues, implement mitigation plans promptly, and escalate incidents to the Live Operations Supervisor.
- Client Communication: Coordinate with clients and internal/external stakeholders to maintain service quality.
- Process Compliance: Follow operational documentation, standard procedures, and shift handover protocols accurately. Required Skills & Qualifications
- Understanding of sports production terminology, including MROs, DA cues, comms, dirty feed, and international sound.




- Knowledge of streaming parameters such as resolution/frame size, bitrate, Adaptive Bitrate (ABR), and transcoder renditions.
- Solid written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Ability to remain focused under pressure, make timely operational decisions, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Willingness to learn operational tools, follow documentation, and take ownership of responsibilities. Experience & Eligibility
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, particularly those with a relevant technical background and a strong interest in sports broadcasting and live streaming.
- Hands-on experience with live online video streaming operations is an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in broadcast operations or video encoders will have an added advantage.
- A relevant degree or technical qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates must be willing to work from the Mumbai office in 24×7 rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with video encoders.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Confluence.
- Previous experience in computer-based operations or live broadcast environments.
