SAP BASIS Architect (S/4HANA) Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM)
· Bangalore, India Role Overview: The SAP BASIS Architect is the SAP BASIS team’s technical focal point for ADM's SAP S/4HANA ecosystem best practices and product builds. You will work directly with functional and business customers across areas such as manufacturing, finance, and procurement to uncover, describe, and document requirements. You will turn them into architecture, implementation plans, and event schedules (upgrades, patching, migrations, system builds). You will work in ADM's product-model way of working, where product teams own outcomes. You will collaborate with BASIS and infrastructure teammates to keep results tied to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business and functional customers to capture technical and non-technical requirements (availability, performance, security, compliance, DR), especially for critical processes and product builds.




• Develop and maintain conceptual, high-level, and low-level SAP technical solutions for product builds in ADM’s SAP space.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across applications, cloud platforms, data and analytics, networks, infrastructure, and security, in line with Enterprise Architecture standards.
• Plan and coordinate end-to-end technical deployment tasks for current processes, infrastructure, landscape, application builds, and related events.
• Owner for the Hana Database Framework – standards, procedures and best practices for the Hana Database administrators, who are exclusively BASIS teammates.
• Describe product and technical solutions to cross functional audiences for team alignment.
• Partner with BASIS and infrastructure teammates to maintain best possible landscape & system hygiene by tracking critical system details and timely decommissioning of systems and resource management for financial and vulnerability purposes.
• Define and enforce SAP technical best practices, and recommend new technologies based on business needs
• Leads technical efforts for events for product builds and critical implementations, such as new tools.

Qualifications:
• 7+ years in SAP BASIS, with significant time in an architect or technical lead role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)



Must-Have Qualities and

Experience:
• Customer requirements engagement: Proven ability to extract, describe, and document requirements from functional and business customers, and to turn them into actionable designs and plans.
• SAP S/4HANA and HANA platform expertise: Hands-on BASIS administration with HANA (LINUX) across on-premise and cloud platforms, including conversion or migration, upgrades, and system lifecycle management. (7 years relevant experience)
• Solution Manager, ChaRM, and transport management: Experience defining and operating SAP transport paths in a complex, multi-system landscape.
• Landscape architecture and operations: Sizing, storage and database management, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging for SAP systems.
• Security, identity, and integration: SAP identity management and single sign-on configuration, plus working knowledge of service-based APIs such as SOAP.
• Hyperscaler and SAP RISE

experience:
Running SAP on AWS, RISE, Azure, or Google Cloud, or in hybrid and private cloud models.
• Data and Monitoring tools: Datasphere, Databricks, SAP CALM, Solution Manager, ChaRM/CTS+, and monitoring and observability tools.
• SAP BTP and integration knowledge: SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Integration Suite (IS), and Cloud Connector.
• Manufacturing

experience:
Familiarity with manufacturing operations, product life cycle, and non-SAP integrations.
• Certifications and executive communication: SAP HANA or S/4HANA technology certification, Green Belt, TOGAF, ITIL, or cloud architecture certification, plus the ability to present architecture decisions to senior stakeholders.
