XLoud | Delhi , India | 4–8 years About XLoud XLoud builds sovereign private cloud infrastructure on open technologies: OpenStack, KVM, Ceph and Kubernetes. We design, deploy and run production clouds for enterprises and government customers, and help them move off VMware onto open, KVM-based platforms using our own migration tooling (XMS). The engineers here own real infrastructure, from bare metal to tenant workloads. What you will do
• Deploy, operate and scale production OpenStack clouds (Kolla-Ansible), including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Octavia and Magnum.
• Handle day-2 cloud administration: availability zones, host aggregates, flavors, quotas, project/tenant management, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot OpenStack services and the infrastructure underneath them: compute, networking, storage and control plane.
• Run Ceph clusters in production: OSD add/remove/recreate, flag management, PG and recovery tuning, capacity planning, and RBD/CephFS/RGW operations.
• Manage KVM/QEMU and libvirt, including CPU pinning, NUMA, huge pages, and GPU/SR-IOV passthrough for high-performance workloads.
• Execute VMware-to-KVM migrations for customers using XMS, from discovery and planning through cutover.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters on OpenStack (Magnum / Cluster API) for containerised and microservices workloads.
• Build automation with Bash, Python, Ansible and Terraform for provisioning, configuration and repeatable operations.
• Configure and debug networking: TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, VXLAN, OVS/OVN, bridging, routing, iptables, DNS and DHCP.
• Manage physical servers through iDRAC, iLO and IPMI/BMC: provisioning, firmware and hardware fault handling.
• Monitor platform health with Prometheus, Grafana and ELK/OpenSearch, and act on alerts before customers notice them.
• Apply security hardening and access controls aligned with ISO 27001 and customer compliance requirements.
• Meet SLAs and follow ITSM processes for incidents, changes and problem management. What you bring
• 4–8 years in private cloud infrastructure, with hands-on OpenStack administration in production.
• Solid Linux administration on RHEL/Rocky and Ubuntu: installation, kernel tuning, LVM, filesystems, performance analysis and upgrades.
• Hands-on Ceph operations experience.
• Solid networking fundamentals and comfort debugging at the packet level.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform).
• Ability to work directly with customer teams and explain technical trade-offs clearly. Good to have
• RHCSA / RHCE, Red Hat OpenStack, or CKA certifications.
• Experience with SDN/NFV, OVN, or DPDK.
• VMware vSphere background, especially migrations off it.
• GPU infrastructure (vGPU, MIG, passthrough) for AI workloads. Why XLoud You’ll work on the full stack, from hardware to the cloud control plane, with a small team that builds and runs its own platform. The problems are real, the impact is direct, and you’ll learn more in a year than most roles teach in three. All academic credentials must be from recognised institutions and are subject to verification.
