Role Description The Electrical Project Engineer role at S M Electrical is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The role involves designing and reviewing electrical systems for commercial and domestic projects, including power distribution and related infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing technical drawings and documentation, performing load calculations, coordinating with contractors and internal teams, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and applicable codes. The Electrical Project Engineer will monitor project progress, support installation and commissioning activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to cost and time-efficient project delivery.



The role also requires maintaining transparent records, participating in site inspections, and providing technical support to clients and stakeholders. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Engineering and a solid understanding of Electricity fundamentals.
• Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Design and the ability to prepare and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Power Systems, including analysis, protection, and system reliability.
• Candidates should possess experience in Power Distribution, including layout planning, load calculations, and equipment selection.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in project execution, site coordination, and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams on-site.
