Role Description The Direct Tax Assistant will support the firm’s tax practice by handling day-to-day activities related to direct tax compliance and advisory work. Responsibilities include preparing and filing income tax returns, assisting in tax computations, maintaining documentation and working papers, and supporting tax assessments and correspondence with tax authorities. The role also involves researching tax laws and updates, compiling data from clients, and coordinating with senior team members to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, requiring consistent office presence and collaboration with the tax team. Qualifications




• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of direct tax concepts, income tax rules, and basic corporate and individual taxation.
• Candidates should possess skills in accounting fundamentals, ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements relevant for tax purposes.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in tax return preparation tools and common office software (such as MS Excel and tax filing utilities).
• Candidates should possess strong analytical, numerical, and documentation skills to ensure accuracy in computations and working papers.
• Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and tax authorities professionally.
