Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinary Surgeon role based at Small Animal Hospital Mumbai in Mumbai. The Veterinary Surgeon will perform surgical procedures for companion animals, including routine, emergency, and specialty surgeries, following established clinical protocols and safety standards. Responsibilities include examining patients, diagnosing conditions, recommending treatment plans, and coordinating pre-operative and post-operative care with the veterinary team. The role involves interpreting diagnostic tests, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating closely with nurses, technicians, and other veterinarians to ensure continuity of care.



The Veterinary Surgeon will also communicate clearly and respectfully with guardians, provide counsel regarding treatment options and home care, and participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development. Qualifications
• MVSc in Veterinary Surgery & Radiology and valid registration with the appropriate veterinary council.
• Demonstrated experience in small animal surgery, including robust clinical and surgical expertise.
• Proficiency in diagnostic workups, including physical examination, imaging, and laboratory tests, and in developing evidence-based treatment plans.
• Ability to provide compassionate, low-stress handling and care for animals, with a strong focus on patient safety and comfort.
• Clear, empathetic communication skills for interacting with guardians and collaborating within a multidisciplinary veterinary team.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail in medical documentation, and adherence to hospital protocols and ethical standards.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 hospital environment, including shifts, weekends, and emergencies as required.
• Prior experience in a multi-speciality or advanced veterinary hospital setting is an advantage; interest in further specialization or continuing education is highly beneficial.
